My heart goes out to you. My prayers will include you. May your son and mine meet each other in heaven and smile because we don't know how good they've got it up there!  I am truly sorry for your loss and even though I do not know you, we are all one family under God.  I try to remind myself when I feel that empty hole in my heart where my son used to be, that this world was only meant to be temporary as is life itself.

Your Cedric is such a handsome young man. I am glad I found your site. There is so much craziness and hate going on in this world, especially among our young Black men. I can't begin to understand the whys. I like to believe that my Joshua was too good for this evil world he was forced to live in and God called him home to be with him. I know this pain is still so fresh for you and wanted to let you know you are in my prayers daily. Take baby steps and be easy on yourself. Know that you did nothing wrong, it was pure evil that took our manchilds. I am going to court in a few minutes to confront things here. Stay in touch and God Bless you and your beautiful family.

I saw your son's picture and it touched my heart so much. I don't even know you - but I  know your pain.  My 23 year old son was murdered too.  It has been more than two years now, but the wound is still open.  I just want you to know that it is alright to cry when you want to, alright to grieve and mourn in your own way, and your own time.  You have that right.  In time, people will stop talking about your son's death. Often, that is the time when you need most to open up and talk.  Be kind to yourself, and make sure you take comfort from others who have suffered the same kind of loss. Because only those who have been thru it can truly understand. May God be with you and know that you are not alone, in spirit.
